Thank you for visiting our site. Since beginning HomePro Inspections in 1990, the founder Owen Dickie had been performing inspections in the Okanagan longer than any other inspector. Throughout this time, his desire has remained the same. To provide our clients with an education about the home we are inspecting using only HIABC qualified inspectors.

Since we began, HomePro's customer satisfaction level is unsurpassed. This is due to our attention to detail, our willingness to explain what we see and friendly and helpful office staff. From your first contact with HomePro, you will find us helpful and professional.

If possible, we want you, our client, to participate in the entire inspection with us. A home inspection is an educational experience and when it comes to your next home, distance education may not the best method of delivery. The report that we provide is comprehensive and complete providing solutions to concerns discovered as well as explaining required maintenance.

HomePro's History In The Okanagan Valley

HomePro Inspections opened its doors in the Okanagan Valley in September 1990. Home inspections were basically unheard of at that time. In fact HomePro was the first Okanagan Home Inspection company to be established and stay in the industry. Homebuyers were unaware that this type of service existed and in fact most Realtors did not understand or believe home inspections would become a part of almost every Real Estate transaction.

Training was not available in Canada nor were there any credible associations or Canadian Standards of Practice in 1990. HomePro’s home inspectors traveled to Falls Church Virginia for class room training and on site inspections. In the last few years our inspectors have trained through programs offered by HIABC (Home Inspectors Association Of British Columbia.

ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) Standards of Practice were used until Canadian Standards were adopted in the mid 1990’s.

HomePro has played a pivotal role in the education of the public and Real Estate community in the last 27 years. We have always felt our role was to educate our clients and therefore we encourage client participation for the entire inspection. This gives our clients the opportunity to ask many questions and really understand the information in the written report the HOMEBOOK. We hold educational presentations for Realtors on a regular basis to help them understand technical issues that their clients may encounter.

The reporting system the HOMEBOOK is used in hundreds offices across Canada and the US. Each affiliate office is independently owned and operated. It was one of the first reporting systems developed in the US and many other reporting systems have been fashioned after it since.

The professional manner that HomePro conducts business with Homebuyers, Vendors and Real Estate professionals is evident in our track record of over 27 years inspecting Okanagan Valley buildings.

Meet the Team

Roger Warren/Owner
BC License # 57453

Roger has over 30 years experience in all areas of the building & design of homes and commercial properties. He worked for Corporate BestBuy Canada Ltd for over 15 years developing, designing & constructing all of their stores across North America. With a background of numbers Diplomas & Courses in Electrical, Wiring, Irrigation Systems, Building, Design etc... he brings a diverse amount of knowledge to his clients. Roger bought HomePro Inspections in 2010 from the founder and one of the Pioneers of the industry in the Okanagan Valley Mr Owen Dickie, who mentored and passed down his invaluable knowledge that has helped him grow into the inspector he is today.  Roger has been a member of HIABC (Home Inspectors Association of British Columbia) for 7 years as both a Home & Commercial Building Inspector with well 2000 home & commercial inspections completed. He has been involved in dozens of seminars for new home owners and realtors across the Okanagan, always being very generous with donating his time and funds to the community. 

In Rogers free time he is constantly involved in upgrading his home & property, working on cars, kayaking but most importantly spending time with his family and pets.

Wayne Loewen

Wayne's building experience dates back to the mid 1970's; building custom homes in the lower mainland and Fraser Valley of British Columbia. This experience included being involved in every stage of construction, from concrete foundations to curved oak staircases. Wayne has been inspecting homes in the Okanagan for over 10 years as a Member of HIABC (Home Inspectors Association of British Columbia) and a certified WETT Inspector. With well over 3000 completed inspections to date, he brings a wealth of experience to each inspection. He has also been involved in training, mentoring and conducting test inspections for new inspectors. He possesses excellent communication skills and has a keen desire to ensure each potential homeowner has a clear understanding of their new home.

In Wayne's free time he enjoys biking, traveling, working on home projects and time with his family and friends.

Curtis Hellofs

Curtis moved to the Okanagan with his family and loves the life style and activities that it offers.  His extensive background in home renovations and  working as a Systems Engineer in the Technology sector gives him an excellent attention to detail type of personality which is a perfect fit for HomePro Inspections. Curt is a member of HIABC (Home Inspectors Association of British Columbia). His desire to learn and work in the home inspection business has been rewarding. Curt says,"I really enjoy that I have the training & knowledge so I can help home owners make informed decisions about their homes. I have been working with HomePro Inspections and are very happy to be part of their team".

On his days off he enjoys many outdoor activities with his family, projects in the shop, and working on his wife's 'HONEY TO DO LIST'!
